Another fantastic Tyne and Wear Hub session was run, early in the morning on Saturday 13th February 2016 at Haven Point, South Tyneside.
Lyndsay Kinlen, Head Coach at South Tyneside ASC lead 56 swimmers and their coaches from clubs within Tyne and Wear though a 2 hour session focusing on backstroke skills and technique. The groups of swimmers worked diligently on their stroke progressions, optimum body position, rotation and effective use of sculling to ensuring they have a great catch.
The session, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all, finished with a timed 15 metre breakout from a racing start and a team relay to test out the skills at race pace. It was an excellent session and congratulations go to all the swimmers who attended for a great mornings work!!
The Tyne and Wear hub, which is still in it’s infancy is making fantastic progress and it’s great to see local clubs and coaches working together. The next hub session will be in March at the Sunderland Aquatics Centre and lead by the City of Sunderland Swimming Club.
