Coaches Workshop well received in The East Riding

Thirty six coaches from clubs across the East Riding of Yorkshire came together for a Coaching CPD Workshop on Saturday 25th November hosted at Bridlington Leisure Centre. The workshop was delivered by Swim England Talent Officer, Fred Furniss, which covered Developing  Starts and Turns with age group swimmers. The interactive session provided an opportunity for coaches working across the ten clubs in the area network to come together, upskill themselves and ask questions to support and develop their knowledge.

The overall feedback received from attendees indicated that 100% thought the workshop content and delivery was extremely good, with all coaches saying that they would be able to go back to their club environments and start using the information which they were taught.

Individual feedback from coaches commented that it was “An extremely informative and inspiring session”, “ An excellent session” and  that the “Information provided was very well explained”. Coaches also provided a range of subject areas which they would like covered in future session. These include macro and micro planning, stroke development, stroke drills, volume and intensity in training programmes, long term athlete development, nutrition plus strength and conditioning advice. These hope to be scheduled in due course.
