North East collect medals at 2016 British Synchronised Swimming Championships

April 25th 2016
On the 17th and 18th April 2016, swimmers from Halifax, City of Leeds and Gateshead Synchronised swimming clubs took part in the British Synchronised Swimming Championships in Nottingham. The event saw great performances from the swimmers and a number of podium positions.

City of Leeds performed a great routine in the Technical team event which saw them take bronze. This team comprised of Rebecca Richardson, Abigail Devanny, Rosie Barrington, Alyssa Ward, Grace Steadman, Chloe McLelland, Georgia Fielding, Isobel Davies, Olivia Burton (Reserve) and Katie Pearce (Reserve). Rebecca Richardson also picked up a silver in the Figures and a Bronze in the solo.

Prior to the championships, athletes attended the North East Synchro Development Camp at Queen Ethelbergs in York. This was a fantastic opportunity for the athletes to bond and focus on the routines they competed in at British Championships. The camp had a really positive impact on future training sessions and in improving the scores across the board at the competition.

Many congratulations to everyone who took part at the event!
