The County Durham Swimming Performance Hub Programme is a Leisureworks and Durham County Council Sport and Cultural services initiative that provides a joined up approach, linking swimming clubs together while also adding value to the clubs existing programmes. The purpose of the hub is to provide additional training opportunities to swimmers and coaches outside of their home clubs and to help develop a clearly defined and recognised performance pathway for swimmers from clubs within County Durham through the Northumberland and Durham Swimming Development Programme to the Performance sessions. The hub aims to do this while developing and delivering coaching programmes tailored specifically to meet the needs of the high performance swimmers and coaches within County Durham.
Through the hub, swimmers will have the opportunity to access the facilities at the Durham Institute of Sport including workshops and weekly strength and conditioning sessions. The hub sessions that have run for the past three seasons have been very successful with many swimmers and coaches accessing the additional training opportunities.
Hub sessions are organised and run by Paul Woodley. For information on the 2017 – 2018 sessions, please contact your club’s coach or Paul Woodley directly on firstname.lastname@example.org.
This season, those swimmers selected onto the hub programme can purchase hub clothing from our online shop, the link to which can be found here: Durham Hub Shop. Each swimmer selected onto the hub programme will receive a FREE hub hat and additional hats can be purchased from Paul Woodley for £6 at hub training sessions.
