The Swimathon Foundation and Swim England are inviting primary schools across England to join in partnership with them to take school swimming seriously! School Swimathon encourages schools to use their weekly swimming lessons to challenge pupils to swim their best by incorporating the challenge within the national curriculum!
School Swimathon runs through the Spring term and participating schools can choose to order swim caps, badges and wall charts to inspire their pupils to improve and swim further than ever before. In addition, there are useful downloads to plan sessions to keep your pupils engaged. In 2017, 81% of participant pupils improved their swimming distance and 3,558 of pupils that were unable to swim 25m at the start of the term were able to swim 25m or more in their final swim.
Swim England provide substantial resources and guidance to give your class teachers and anyone else involved in school swimming delivery the confidence that they are equipped with the right skills and knowledge. Join with other schools to raise the quality and impact of school swimming lessons.
The deadline for schools to sign up to the event is the 18th December 2017 – so now less than a month to go. For more information please download the following flyer: Swim England School Swimathon Leaflet Nov 2017.
