Coaches from across the region attended the Coaches Conference delivered in partnership with the Swim England Talent on Sunday 18th March.
Four sessions were delivered during the day which covered the following topics:
- Managing Difficult Conversations including Understanding Emotional Intelligence
- Planning Considerations and Session Construction for Age Group and Youth Swimmers
- A Head For Talent
- Growth Development for Age Group Swimmers
Presentations were delivered by Chris Chapman from UK Coaching, James Richards and Craig Robertson who are both coaches from the City of Leeds Swim programme.
Coaches who attended the day overall rated the sessions as excellent and said that they were very likely to be able to use the information which they have received back in their club environments.

The conference forms part of the talent development programme between the both Northumberland & Durham, Yorkshire, the Swim England North East Region and the Swim England Talent which focusses on developing swimmers, coaches, team managers and clubs.
