The 2018 Young Leader Development Day will take place on Saturday 27th January. This is a fantastic opportunity for young adults within aquatics clubs across the Swim England North East Region to widen their skills, get more involved in their club and develop their personal CV. The details of the day are as follows:
Date: 27th January 2018
Where: Castleford Campus, Wakefield College WF10 4UA.
For Ages: 15 to 25 years olds
Time: 9:15am to 2:45pm
Attendees will be able to undertake the following training workshops and personal development opportunities:
Team Manager Module 1 – This will give participants the knowledge and confidence to help to manage a team at a local level. It will raise awareness of the key areas to consider such as being safe and effective; help identify likely problems and challenges; understand the need for risk assessments and being aware of where further help, guidance and support is available. (Note that candidates cannot take on the role of a Team Manger until they are 18 yrs old but are able to assist a Team Manger to gain valuable experience).
Where Volunteering Can Take You – Experienced volunteers will give an insight into volunteering at a club level right through to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. They will provide a valuable insight into taking the first steps in volunteering, explain the volunteering roles at the highest level in the sport and give an insight into volunteering both at World Championship events and with TeamGB.
