The NDSA is hosting a Masters Swimming Development Session designed to support athletes seeking to enhance their performance\, training knowledge\, and overall engagement in the sport. \nThis event will take place on Saturday 31 January 2026\, running from approximately 10:00am to 2:00pm at the Sunderland Aquatic Centre\, one of the premier facilities in the region. \nThe Development Session has been structured to offer a holistic programme tailored specifically for Masters athletes. Key components include: \n\nLong Course Pool Session (10am-12pm) – Martin Hall will be delivering the session in a long-course environment to refine technique\, race skills\, and endurance.\nNutrition Workshop (12pm-1pm) – guidance on optimising nutrition to support training\, recovery\, and performance during lunch.\nStrength & Conditioning Session (1pm-2pm) – dry-side training insights to support mobility\, stability\, and power development for Masters athletes.\n\nThe event is open to all Northumberland & Durham Masters Club members aged 18 and above\, with a £20 participation fee. \nAthletes can secure their place by scanning the QR code featured on the event poster or click here. SUMMARY:Northumberland & Durham Talent Camp (Swimming)
DESCRIPTION:Following the camps in 2018\, the Northumberland and Durham Swimming Association County Pathway Programme will run again in 2019 and be delivered at Consett Leisure Centre (tbc). \n  \nThe camps will provide an opportunity for swimmers to develop their technical\, tactical\, physical and psychological skills with swimmers of a similar age and ability from across the county. The camps will also provide an opportunity for swimmers to work with different coaches and to train in different environments. \n  \nThe Swimmer Selection Policy for the county camps is as follows: \n  \nMinimum activity level: Attendance at three one day events: 30th March\, 29th June & 14th September 2019 (tbc) \n  \n30 swimmers (15 Male / 15 Female) will be selected as follows: \n  \n\nThe Swim England rankings database will be used for selection Only times achieved between September 1st 2018 and the Monday following the final County Championship weekend in 2019\, will be considered.\nThe highest ranked 11 year old Male and Female (age as at 31st December 2019)\, in each Olympic event competed at County Championships will be initially selected.\nFurther selections will be made from the 2nd\, 3rd\, 4th etc ranked\nWhere swimmers have an equal ranking\, selections will be made prioritised according to the highest Fina point score in a single\nSelections will be from long course rankings.\nSwimmer selections will be completed within one week of the completion of the County\nSwimmers and home coaches will be informed within two weeks of the completion of the County\nSwimmers must reply to confirm whether they will be accepting or declining their place on the programme within a week of receiving a selection letter.\nAny reserve swimmers and their respective home coaches should then be informed within four weeks of the completion of the County\nAll places on the programme will be filled and all paperwork returned by the middle of February 2019\, ready for the first camp of the programme which is scheduled to take place on the 30th March\n\n  \nA presentation will be given by the Lead Coach for the Northumberland and Durham County Camps 2019 during the break between the morning and afternoon sessions at the Northumberland and Durham County Championships on Saturday 9th February 2019. During this presentation he will also talk about the Northumberland and Durham Performance Pathway which these county camps form part of.
