Fred Furniss was the Swim England National Talent Officer, who had previously spent a number of years working with the North East Region.
The Fred Furniss bursary aims to support coach development by offering funding to individuals from affiliated clubs within Northumberland & Durham for swimming coach education.
This has recently been amended to allow clubs to apply for support towards continuing professional development. Clubs are encouraged to apply to support the development work of their swimming coaches.
