Club Networks

By working together clubs and members can achieve more by providing the best opportunity for the athlete, coach and volunteer. The North East region supports the development of club networks to enable these outcomes to be achieved.

A club network establishes mutually benefiting agreements on how to work together and what they would like to achieve in the coming months. This often will include areas such as; athlete development, teacher / coach / volunteer development, competitions and club administration.

Each network will vary according to what the member clubs wish to achieve by working together. The networks aim is to provide access to a thriving and active aquatics ethos and environment. It also reduces the sense of isolation and often helplessness to which individual clubs can feel. Networks meet regularly to discuss common problems and issues as well as plan events and courses. Networks that are constituted are able to apply for funding which can be used to develop all the clubs within the area.

Formal club networks have been established in the following areas:

  • Tyne and Wear
  • Northumberland
  • Durham
  • Tees Valley
  • North Yorkshire
  • Sheffield Swimming Clubs
  • Sheffield Water Polo Beacon Network
  • Hull and District Swimming Association
  • Doncaster Swimming Association.
