Aquatic Poolside Helper Training

Twenty five Young Leaders from across the Swim England North East Region attended and completed Aquatic Poolside Helper training in York on Saturday 25th January.

A Poolside Helper supports the delivery of club sessions under the supervision of a qualified teacher or coach. The training covered the core skills needed including:

  • Health and Safety
  • Being an effective member of a teaching/coaching team
  • Understanding different learning styles
  • Good practice in an aquatic environment
  • Understanding the Athlete Development Support Pathway

All the learners will be given access to additional learning in their chosen aquatic discipline and will be encouraged to volunteer on poolside at their club with the support and guidance of a Club Coach.

Additional Aquatic Poolside Helper training will take place in the coming months. Young Leaders aged from 14 to 16 years old can register their interest in the training at: Aquatic Poolside Helper Application Form
