The North East U16 Girls’ squad delivered a performance to remember at the recent Inter-Regional Championships, showcasing skill, resilience and exceptional teamwork across a thrilling weekend of competition.

This young and promising team, representing the North East Steelers, stepped up to every challenge thrown their way, learning and growing with each game. One of the most memorable moments came as the squad held their nerve in a nail-biting victory over the Scottish National Team.

Leadership and Individual Accolades

The team was led by co-captains Emily, Jess and Ellen, whose leadership both in and out of the water set the tone for a cohesive and determined squad. Special congratulations go to:

Emily, who, as the team’s goalkeeper, earned the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for her calm, consistent performance under pressure.
Ellen, who emerged as the Top Goal Scorer of the Tournament, showcasing remarkable offensive skill throughout the event.
