The City of Sheffield Water Polo Club’s U19 girls have made history, finishing top of the table for the first time in years after an incredible weekend of competition on Sunday 16th March. A commanding 20-10 victory over Otter capped off a flawless performance, with the team securing three wins from three games.

This outstanding achievement not only cements their position as one of the top teams in the country but also guarantees them a place in the National Finals this May, where they will compete for a medal.

A Weekend to Remember

The team displayed skill, determination, and teamwork throughout the tournament, showcasing the strength of water polo in the North East. The final match against Otter was a true testament to their resilience and attacking prowess, finishing in emphatic fashion with a ten-goal margin.

Looking Ahead to the National Finals

Now ranked among the top four U19 teams in the country, the City of Sheffield squad will turn their focus to preparing for the biggest stage in domestic youth water polo. The National Finals promise to be a thrilling contest, and with their current form, Sheffield will be strong contenders for a medal.
