The North East Region is delighted to announce the appointment of Erin Kelly as the new Regional Welfare Lead. Erin brings a wealth of experience in swimming, coaching, and safeguarding, making her an excellent addition to the role.

Erin’s journey in aquatics began as a competitive swimmer before transitioning into coaching at her local swimming club. She has since built a career as a swimming teacher, working with individuals of all ages and abilities, from toddlers as young as two to adults. Her extensive experience includes teaching both private and group lessons, as well as working closely with children with special educational needs. In addition to her teaching roles, Erin is a qualified lifeguard and has spent the past two years as a senior leisure attendant.

As the new Regional Welfare Lead, Erin will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and safeguarding of all involved in the region’s aquatic activities. Her passion for supporting and developing swimmers at every level, combined with her hands-on experience in welfare and safeguarding, makes her a perfect fit for the role.

The North East Region would also like to extend its sincere gratitude to Chris Halliday for his years of dedicated service in this position. His contributions have been invaluable in maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all members, and his efforts are truly appreciated.
