Wear Valley Amateur Swimming Club, based at Woodhouse Close Leisure Centre in Bishop Auckland, is seeking a passionate and committed Head Coach to lead their experienced coaching team and drive the development of their swim programme. The club currently supports around 60 swimmers across seven squads, from Learn to Swim Level 7 to National level.
The ideal candidate will hold a Swim England Swimming Coach qualification (Level 2), possess strong communication skills, and be dedicated to fostering a positive and progressive environment for swimmers, coaches, and volunteers alike. Key responsibilities include planning the competition calendar, overseeing tailored training programmes in line with LTAD, supervising the coaching rota, and maintaining safeguarding standards in line with Swim England’s Wavepower policies.
This is a part-time, self-employed role with negotiable remuneration based on experience. The closing date for applications is Wednesday 30th April.
