Congratulations to the North East Regional Award Winners 2022

Thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate a deserving person for a Regional Award as part of Swim England 2022 National Awards. We are pleased to announce the North East winners below:-

Club of the Year Award: The Sport Club of the Year focuses on recognising clubs affiliated to Swim England who continually go above and beyond for their members, providing excellent service in both wet and dry land activities. This award focuses on clubs who create and foster the community spirit of aquatics. Winners – Richmond Dales ASC, City of Sheffield Diving Club and Rotherham Metro Water Polo Club
Spirit of Aquatics Award: This award is for an individual who has accomplished notable sporting achievements in the water in any aquatic discipline. This individual will have completed the activity in a Swim England club, county, regional or national setting. Winner – Emily Crossley, Rotherham Metro WPC
Coach of the Year Award: This Award recognises coaches or teachers in clubs. Winner – Marc Holdsworth, City of Leeds Diving Club
Technical Officer of the Year Award: This award recognises a Swim England Technical Official, of any discipline, whose contribution is seen as invaluable and their efforts are instrumental in the work to support the delivery of aquatic sport through technical officiating. Winner – Judith Halliday, Bridlington SC
Volunteer of the Year Award: This award recognises a Swim England member whose contribution is seen as invaluable and their efforts are instrumental in the work to support the delivery of aquatic sport. Winner – Helen Dutton, City of Leeds Diving Club
Youth Champion of the Year Award: (awarded by Swim England Youth Advisory Panel) This award recognises individuals who continue to champion the voice of the young people within aquatics, have a clear passion for the sport and made a volunteering commitment or advocacy through campaigning, fundraising or committee work. To be confirmed by Swim England.
Youth Volunteer of the Year Award: This award recognises a Swim England member who, at a young age, has shown commitment to volunteering at their club, county, region or nationally. Their volunteering is making a positive impact and this volunteer is a great example of a role model for others. Winner – Jack Naylor Dunn, Kingfishers Scarborough SC

The Swim England National Volunteer Awards 2022 will take place on Saturday 26 November at the Great Hall at the University of Birmingham. Winners have been notified and presentations will be made in their clubs.

Many thanks to everyone who took the time to nominate a volunteer for an award and many congratulations to all our North East winners. Without everyone’s hard work and dedication, aquatics within the North East wouldn’t be what it is today.
