Swim England North East is pleased to announce that bookings are now open for another delivery of its Challenging Behaviour with Active Bystander Training for aquatics clubs across the region.
This online workshop will be delivered by the North East Sport Welfare team at RISE and is specifically tailored to the aquatics environment. The session is designed to help clubs recognise unwelcome behaviour and develop the practical skills and confidence needed to respond appropriately and safely.
Creating a positive, inclusive and safe club culture is a shared responsibility. This workshop provides a structured and supportive space for discussion, reflection and problem-solving, ensuring attendees leave equipped to make a meaningful difference within their club setting.
Who Should Attend?
This session is open to all members of aquatics clubs in the North East, including:
- Volunteers
- Coaches
- Teachers
- Officials
- Poolside helpers
- Committee members
Whether you are involved in day-to-day delivery on poolside or governance behind the scenes, this training will provide relevant and applicable insight.
Workshop Content
The session will explore:
- What is meant by being an Active Bystander
- How to recognise unwanted or challenging behaviour
- How to intervene or respond in a safe and effective way
The workshop has been contextualised specifically for aquatics clubs, ensuring scenarios and discussion reflect real-life environments experienced within swimming, diving, water polo and artistic swimming settings.
