Two Teams, Two Podiums: Regional Success at National County Team Swimming Championships

Northumberland and Durham and Yorkshire both celebrated podium finishes at the Swim England National County Team Championships in Sheffield following a day of outstanding performances from swimmers across the region.

After being relegated from the top tier last year, Northumberland and Durham produced a superb team display to win the Division 2 title, accumulating an impressive 558 points. Their success secures an immediate return to Division 1 and is a testament to the hard work, determination and team spirit shown throughout the competition.

In Division 1, Yorkshire once again demonstrated their strength among the country’s leading swimming counties. A total of 422 points saw Yorkshire finish in third place, behind only Surrey (445.5 points) and Kent (476.5 points), to claim another national podium finish.

Both performances reflect the depth of talent across the region and the dedication of the swimmers, coaches, team managers, officials and volunteers who contributed to the teams’ success.

Congratulations to everyone involved on a fantastic day of racing and two deserved podium finishes.
