The second in a series of workshops which are aimed at the parents of children involved in any of our aquatic sports has taken place. The workshops focuses on how parents can help their child to fulfil their potential both in and out of the aquatic sporting environment.
The feedback received from the parents who have attended the workshops so far is as follows:
100% of responses indicated that it has provided them with a range of strategies to help them support their child.
100% of responses said they would recommend the workshop to other parents.
90% of responses rated the workshop as Excellent, 10% as Good.
Parent said they took away the following learning points:
“Letting my child lead the conversations and offer support after a competition especially if they’re disappointed. Remember that our children listen to us and copy our actions. Very true. We need to be the best role models we can be.”
“Never compare child’s journey is unique and let them lead conversation so you’re not imposing your anxieties onto them.”
” That everyone’s journey is different, not to just focus on results but what the children want yo talk about after comp and that coaches/parents behave in same manner in order to support children effecting.”
