27 year old Yorkshire Swimming Record Broken at recent Yorkshire Swimming Championships

At the recent Yorkshire Swimming Association Winter Competition held at the John Charles pool in Leeds, 13 year old City of Sheffield swimmer Phoebe Cooper, wiped out the longest standing Yorkshire record which was set way back in 1994. Pheobe achieved this by setting a new Junior Girls, under 16, 50 metre Freestyle record of 26.41. To complete an excellent weekend of Swimming Phoebe also set a new record in the 50 metre Butterfly with a time of 27.50 making it a welcome return to swimming competition.

Many congratulations Pheobe, great to see the records being broken once again and the county running swimming competitions.
