Brief Blog: Hi there, I am a swimmer at Morpeth amateur swimming club. I’m also an aquatic helper on the poolside. I volunteer at Above The Water which is a local swimming pool and shadow one of the teachers. I hope to complete my level one teaching course and become a teacher there. I’ve always loved swimming and I’ve been offered a lot of opportunities through swimming that I am extremely grateful for and some are even the British swimming championships, which I have thoroughly enjoyed. I have completed Swim England basic safeguarding awareness, swimming poolside helper course, aquatic poolside helper course, diving poolside helper course, foundations of inclusivity. I sit on the swim England Northeast youth forum panel and I have attended events such as SE pool helper training for young volunteers. I have attended a number of SE poolside helper CPD and training sessions and have volunteered at national events helping poolside, Marshalling, Kit carrier and as a medal bearer. I have attended many Swim England North East Region youth forums.
Why did you want to join the Youth Forum?
Because I thought it would be an excellent opportunity to hear from many different people that I look up to that are also similar to my age and want to do the same things as I would like to, it’s also great to get a different perspective and different points of view From people all over.
What do you hope to achieve as a Youth Forum?
I hope to achieve different points of views that I can use in my experiences going forward and I hope to be able to pass these forward as well. Many people contribute such brilliant things and each forum is completely different and always new ideas are shared.
