Job Summary

North Yorkshire Council is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Para‑Swim Coach to join the aquatics team at Harrogate Leisure & Wellbeing Hub. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to support the development of para-swimmers through inclusive, engaging, and high-quality coaching.

Role Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

Deliver safe, effective, and inclusive swimming coaching sessions tailored to para-athletes.
Plan and evaluate sessions to support swimmer development and progression.
Promote a positive and encouraging environment, ensuring high standards of swimmer welfare and safety.
Collaborate with the wider leisure and swim teams to ensure the programme meets community needs.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants should demonstrate:

Experience working with swimmers with disabilities or para-athletes (e.g., through school programmes, clubs, or disability sport settings).
A good knowledge of swimming techniques and athlete development.
Appropriate ASA/Swim England coaching qualifications.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with swimmers, parents, and colleagues.
A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and promoting equal opportunities in sport.
