The Swim England North East Region is inviting coaches from across the region to share their views and experiences through the new Coach Development Survey 2026.
The survey forms a key part of the region’s work to shape a future-focused Coaching Development Plan, helping to identify the support, opportunities and resources that will have the greatest impact on coach development across the North East.
Built around the six themes of Swim England’s Flourishing in Coaching strategy, the survey explores:
- Culture
- The Coaching Community
- Diversity
- What is Coaching?
- Value, Quality and Recognition
- Learning and Development
Importantly, the survey is not focused on courses or qualifications. Instead, it aims to gain a deeper understanding of coaches’ experiences, the challenges they face, how connected and valued they feel within the aquatic community, and what types of support would genuinely help them develop and thrive in their coaching journey.
Coaches from all aquatic disciplines, including swimming, diving, artistic swimming and water polo, are encouraged to take part. Feedback gathered through the survey will play a vital role in helping the region design future coach development opportunities and better support coaches at every stage of their pathway.
The survey should take no more than 5–10 minutes to complete and will remain open until 31st October 2026. The link to the survey can be found here:
All responses will be treated in confidence and handled in accordance with the Market Research Society’s Code of Conduct. Participants will not be asked to provide their name or contact details, and personal data will be protected in line with Swim England’s privacy policy.
