Free Sport Welfare Workshops
The North East Sport Welfare team are delivering a series of informal, supportive workshops designed for:
- Club Welfare Officers
- Coaches and team staff
- Committee members
- Volunteers across all sports
These sessions offer a relaxed environment to hear about local welfare updates, share best practice, and explore practical ways to make club environments safer and more inclusive. It’s also a great opportunity to connect with volunteers.

- Tuesday 28th April – Corbridge Cricket Club (7:00–8:30pm) Select tickets – Sport Welfare Workshop – Corbridge Cricket Club, Corbridge
- Thursday 7th May – Morpeth Rugby Club (7:00–8:30pm) Select tickets – Sport Welfare Workshop – Morpeth Rugby Club, Mitford Road
Both sessions are free to attend.
North East Sport Welfare Event 2026
Building on the success of last year, the flagship regional event returns this summer and promises to be another impactful day.
- Saturday 6th June
- St James’ Park
- 8:30am – 3:30pm
- Select tickets – North East Sport Welfare Event – St James’ Park Stadium, Barrack Road, Newcastle
This free event will bring together over 100 volunteers from across the region, alongside expert speakers in welfare and safeguarding. It’s an excellent opportunity to deepen your knowledge, share experiences, and strengthen the welfare culture within your club.
Lunch and refreshments are provided, but places are limited, so early booking is strongly encouraged.
