Swimmers from across the region are invited to take part in the SENW/SENE Regional Open Water Championships 2026, taking place on Saturday 27th June 2026 at Sale Water Park.
Delivered in partnership between Swim England North West and Swim England North East, this flagship open water event brings together athletes from multiple counties, including Northumberland & Durham and Yorkshire, providing a high-quality competitive opportunity within the regional pathway.

The championships will incorporate several county open water competitions, making it a key date in the calendar for swimmers looking to compete at both county and regional level.
Competition Pathway
This event also serves as a qualification opportunity, with the top four swimmers from each region progressing to the Swim England National Open Water Championships, scheduled for July 2026.
Race distances will align with national pathway standards, ranging from 2km through to 5km, depending on age group, with longer distances available at national level for older swimmers.
