At the Region’s AGM in May 2024, Swim England North East launched their new Regional Strategy for the development of Aquatic activity within the region for the next 4 years. This original strategy aligned to the Swim England strategy “Access Aquatics” which had launched previously.
Since the launch of the new “One Swim England” strategy, the team have been doing their own refresh to ensure our strategy is fully aligned to Swim England whilst still addressing the needs of our local aquatics communities.
Vision
In the North East Region, our vision is to “Promote a lifelong love of aquatics”. Our aim is to inspire people of all ages and abilities to Get in the Water and Stay in the Water by creating an environment where people feel welcomed, safe and valued.
Mission
Our mission is about “Enriching lives and making lasting memories” in aquatics that will last a lifetime, whether its participating, delivering teaching or coaching, or helping out as a volunteer. We simply want people to join aquatics and never leave!
ONE Swim England
In November of 2024, a refreshed strategy was launched by Swim England which was created after the national roadshows. The new strategy embodies the culture and values everyone in the aquatics community should be striving to achieve. We in the North East are proud to work in collaboration with Swim England and have adopted the four values into our own strategy.

What can you expect to see?
We are continually engaging with our networks to map out our implementation plans for 2025 and beyond. We will ensure the money invested by the Region is having maximum impact across our aquatics communities and we will look at commercial strategies to bring in extra revenue streams so that costs to our members continue to be kept to a minimum. Diversity, equality and inclusion will be marbled into everything we do and across all of our upcoming projects.
