Swim England have made available an updated model club constitution for unincorporated clubs. The updated constitution has been developed to ensure that an unincorporated club is fully aware of the correct standards of club governance and can work to make the appropriate changes to meet the updated criteria.
The Swim England North East Region encourage all clubs affiliated to the region to over the next 12 to 24 months look at the new model club constitution and the guidance information with a view to updating their current club constitution. Updated club constitutions should be sent to the Region at swimnortheast@swimming.org for verification and approval so that it can be formally adopted by the club at a their AGM.
Please note that it is important for clubs to keep their constitution up to date as this forms part of the club affiliation and SwimMark accreditation process.
