Applications Open for Swim England Aquatics Coach Mentoring Programme 2026 – 2027

Applications are now open for Swim England’s Aquatics Coach Mentoring Programme 2026–2027, offering coaches across all aquatic disciplines the opportunity to work alongside an experienced coach mentor.

The programme is designed to support aspiring coaches to learn, develop and grow within their coaching roles, helping to raise the quality of coaching across aquatic sports. Through one-to-one mentoring, observations, group discussions and shared learning opportunities, coaches will receive tailored support to enhance their practice and accelerate their development.

What’s Included?

The programme runs for 12 months, with the potential to extend into a second year, and includes:

• 4 individual mentoring sessions
• 2 group sense-making sessions
• 1 observation of your coaching
• 1 shadowing or co-coaching session with your mentor
• Three whole-cohort events:
  • Programme induction (September 2026)
  • Mid-programme reflection session (April 2027)
  • End-of-programme review (August 2027)

Who Can Apply?

Applications are welcomed from:

• Child and youth development coaches
• Age group coaches
• Performance development coaches

Applicants should be committed to personal development, open to learning, willing to engage with peers, and able to participate fully in all aspects of the programme.

Cost

The programme costs £100 per coach, with a discounted fee of £80 for Swim England Coach Members. Swim England is committed to ensuring the programme is accessible and encourages coaches to make contact if cost presents a barrier to participation.

Key Information

• Coaches are responsible for their own travel and subsistence expenses.
