Scotland Visit for U14 Fixtures and 2010 Trials Show Promise
This weekend saw an exciting and action-packed Saturday for the Girls’ North East Water Polo programme, as we welcomed the Scotland squad for a series of games and hosted the 2010-born player trials.
U14s Welcome Scotland
In a brilliant show of developing talent and team spirit, the U14 girls lined up against visitors from Scotland. For some of our players, it marked their very first game experience, while for others it was an opportunity to build on their growing match confidence.
Despite strong play from the Scottish team, the girls rose to the challenge, showing great determination, teamwork, and resilience throughout the session. A huge thank you to Scotland for travelling to join us, your competitive spirit and sportsmanship made the day incredibly worthwhile.
Older Group: Picks, Screens & GCSE Break Fun
The older age group athletes also took to the pool with fantastic energy, focusing on tactical work with picks and screens. The session blended serious skill development with a welcome break from GCSE revision, and it was great to see the players enjoying their time in the water while continuing to push themselves.
2010 Trials: Rising Stars Shine
Saturday also saw our 2010-born athlete trials take place, and we were blown away by the effort and talent on display. Every player gave it their all, which made the selection process incredibly tough, a true testament to the strength of this age group and the bright future of North East girls’ water polo.
