The North East U18 boys’ water polo team showcased great resilience and talent as they finished 4th in the Division 2 Inter-Regional competition, last weekend. This result is particularly impressive as only three players were in the correct age group, with the majority of the team playing up from younger age categories.
Despite the challenge of competing against older, more experienced teams, the North East boys held their own in every match:
- East: Lost 8-11
- South East: Won 12-9
- Wales: Lost 12-15
Eli Wass was awarded the team’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) for his outstanding performances throughout the competition.
As this marks the end of the U18 boys’ journey with the North East Region, everyone at the North East Academy would like to congratulate the team on their success and wish them the best of luck as they transition to senior water polo with their respective clubs. The future looks bright for these young athletes!
