On Saturday 12th October, over 40 enthusiastic girls gathered for the monthly regional water polo training session, showcasing both talent and determination across various age groups.
The session was particularly exciting for the 2011-2013 cohort, with many athletes trialing for the 2011 squad ahead of the December Inter-Regionals (IRs). This event also welcomed a few players attending for the very first time. To further enhance the experience, the boys were invited to participate as opponents during the games, adding an extra competitive edge. A huge well done to everyone who took part – your hard work and commitment did not go unnoticed!
Meanwhile, the 2010-2008 group engaged in their first round of 2008 squad trials. The effort and intensity demonstrated by the players was the best we’ve ever seen in this age group. Every participant threw themselves into the challenge, fighting for their spot in the next trial with fierce determination. The quality of play made it incredibly difficult for the coaches to make cuts – a testament to the impressive talent pool we have in the North East.
A massive thank you goes out to Head Coach, Gabby, Chris for his role as Team Manager and to Matt for his invaluable assistance with coaching. It was a fantastic session all around, and we’re excited to see what the future holds for these talented players!
