County Durham Swimming Hub

The County Durham Swimming Performance Hub Programme is Durham County Council initiative that provides a joined up approach, linking swimming clubs together while also adding value to the clubs existing programmes. The purpose of the hub is to provide additional training opportunities to swimmers and coaches outside of their home clubs and to help develop a clearly defined and recognised performance pathway for swimmers from clubs within County Durham through the Northumberland and Durham Swimming Development Programme to the Performance sessions. The hub aims to do this while developing and delivering coaching programmes tailored specifically to meet the needs of the high performance swimmers and coaches within County Durham.

Through the hub, swimmers will have the opportunity to access the facilities at the Durham Institute of Sport including workshops and weekly strength and conditioning sessions. The hub sessions that have run in the past have been very successful with many swimmers and coaches accessing the additional training opportunities.

The hub sessions are organised and run by Paul Woodley however they are currently on pause for 2023. More information on them will be available in the near future.
