Swim England is thrilled to announce the return on the Swim England National Awards 2025, a flagship event that honours the exceptional individuals, clubs, coaches, volunteers, and organisations that form the heart of our aquatic community.
These awards shine a spotlight on the passion, dedication, and achievements across all the aqautic disciplines (artistic swimming, diving, open water, swimming, and water polo), and celebrate those who go above and beyond to create lasting, positive impacts both in and out of the water.
This also serves as a fantastic opportunity to recognise those within our Region on their dedication to the sport!
Key Dates
- Nominations Open: Monday 2nd June – Sunday 6th July
- Regional Winners Announced By: Sunday 28th September 2025
- National Awards Ceremony: Saturday 29th November 2025
Award Categories
The National Awards span across three sections, with nominations and judging taking place at regional and national levels.
Section 1: Regional Shortlist Categories
Members from across the North East can submit nominations for the following awards, which will first be judged at the Regional level:
- Sport Club of the Year (by discipline)
- Volunteer of the Year
- Young Volunteer of the Year
- Technical Official of the Year
- Participation and Community Coach of the Year
- Children/Age Group Coach of the Year
- Talent Development Coach of the Year
Regional winners will be verified and then go forward as finalists for the National Awards.
Section 2: Long Service Recognition
Celebrating lifetime contributions to the sport:
- Harold Fern Award
- Alfred H Turner Award
These honours are reserved for indiviudals or organisations that have made a truly outstanding contribution to aqautics at all levels, from club to international.
Section 3: Nationally Judged Awards
Open for direct nominations and judged by Swim England panels:
- Performance Coach of the Year
- Coach Mentor or Coach Developer of the Year
- Swimming Teacher of the Year
- Swim School of the Year
- Health Impact Award
- School Swimming Award
- Educator of the Year
- Inclusion Impact, ‘For All’, Award
- Pool Operator Pioneer Award

From young volunteers shaping the future, to dedicated technical officials, these awards highlight the real people driving aquatics forward. Clubs, teachers, and coaches are the heart of our community, providing safe, inclusive, and inspiring environments every day.

How to Nominate
Nominations are open to all – whether you are a parent, participant, official, or supporter. You do not need to be a Swim England member to submit a nomination, but all nominees must be members.
