The North East diving community has a lot to celebrate as a remarkable number of divers from our Region have been selected for the prestigous Swim England Diving Junior Development Squad for 2025. This is a significant achievement, reflecting the depth of talent and dedication within our area.
The squad, comprised of 27 young divers aged 12 to 18, represents the future of British diving. Gaining a spot in this national squad is not only an honour but also a stepping stone toward competing in some of the most prestigious international events. Selection was based on exceptional performances throughout the year and outstanding displays at the national assessment camp held in September.
Swim England’s Junior Development programme is a critical part of the talent pathway, nurturing promising athletes to reach their potential. Those selected will participate in a series of training camps over the coming months, starting with an exciting camp in March at the Southend Leisure Centre. Here, they will train alongside divers from Scotland and the wider Great Britain programme, creating a truly collaborative and competitive environment.
The North East is particularly well-represented in this year’s squad, with the following divers earning their places:

This exceptional representation from the North East highlights the incredible talent, coaching, and support systems in place within our Region’s diving clubs. Many of these divers have already made waves on the international stage, with six members of the squad set to represent Great Britain at the World Aquatics Junior Diving Championships later this year.
