Since its formation over 120 years ago, during which time it has been called Yorkshire Amateur Swimming Association, Yorkshire Swimming Association, and now Yorkshire Aquatic Sport, the County has always had a President.
The President has held office for a year (sometimes two years) and during that time has represented the County at Aquatic events held across the County, and elsewhere in the North of England where a Yorkshire team has been competing.
The President has been the person presenting medals, trophies and other awards, and also greeting visiting Presidents from other Counties. The appointment is therefore very much in the public eye, and countless photographs will be taken.
This year, there was no nomination. The County has no President.
Would you, or someone you know who is a Member of a Yorkshire Swimming Club, be interested in taking on this prestigious role? The role is voluntary, but all reasonable expenses are refunded in line with Swim England policy.
There are competitors who need medals. Perhaps others need a kind word in the right ear. Perhaps the job needs YOU.
If you want to help, email secretary@yorkshireaquaticsport.org as soon as you can – now would be good.
