Northumbria University are seeking a level 2 qualified swimming coach to deliver coaching within their growing swimming club. The Northumbria University swimming club will have two core training groups for the 2024-25 academic year. The two groups will be COMPETE swimmers, who will train three times a week and take part in BUCS short and long course, as well as local competitions and TRAIN swimmers who will train 2 times a week with an aim to develop their skills in a fun and social environment.
There is also opportunity for the successful candidate to lead on their Swimming Lessons, offered to 20 participants at a time in 1-hour slots over a 20-week period.
Swimming sessions take place in the 25m pool in Sport Central (Newcastle city centre, NE1 8ST), across the provisional timetable:
TRAIN Swimming
• Tuesdays 07:00-08:30
• Wednesdays 18:00-19:00
• Thursdays 07:00-08:30
COMPETE Swimming
• Tuesdays 17:30-19:00
• Wednesdays 17:00-18:00
• Thursdays 17:30-19:00
Swimming Lessons
• Tuesdays 16:30-17:30
• Thursdays 16:30-17:30
All coaches must also hold a current first aid and safeguarding qualifications (if not currently held coach must agree to attend one of our in-house courses delivered in September).
