On the evening of Friday 3 July, the North East Girls Water Polo Talent Centre held its annual Summer Games Night, bringing together players for an evening of teamwork, competition and fun.
The event gives athletes the opportunity to play alongside and against their peers, putting into practice the skills and knowledge they have developed throughout the season. With almost 40 players taking part in the pool, the evening was a resounding success, with plenty of competitive spirit on show across all the games.
A huge thank you goes to Clare, Graham, Ali and Scott for their support and assistance throughout the night, helping to ensure the event ran smoothly and was enjoyed by everyone involved.
Special thanks also to Steve, who delivered a refereeing rules masterclass for our younger players. The session was extremely well received, with players engaging brilliantly and asking lots of thoughtful questions, demonstrating their enthusiasm to learn more about the game.
As the season now pauses for the summer break, players are encouraged to continue working on their fitness and swimming ahead of the new season. Preparations will begin again in September, ready for another exciting year of development and water polo success.
